Missing Toronto … hopefully I can explore very soon
I RARELY SHOOT BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY
HOW ARE YOU? NO SERIOUSLY!
If you need any help or anything during these strange times of COVID 19 please call a friend, family member, anybody that will just listen to you and help you express what you have going on. Do not be afraid! Ask for help.
Roaming the quiet streets of Manhattan with business casual shoes on, blazer jacket with gigantic buttons, and black pants that I spent ten dollars for the cleaners to steam press. Sadly my meeting was canceled but luckily for me I had brought my camera with me and went exploring the beautiful city that never sleeps.
It was such a gloomy and rainy day. I took my umbrella, camera bag, and prayed that my camera will not get wet during my walk around the city. I never walked around Manhattan, NY with it being so quiet. I’ve spent a lot of time in the city and seen some bizarre days, but since COVID19 hit the entire world so hard things are just so strange for better words.
I tell you Manhattan, New York will never be the same
I hope my good photographers/photojournalists are out there capturing a time in history one frame at a time.
Side note: It’s 2050 a child in school opens an American History textbook which shows one of my photos and facts about Coronavirus aka COVID 19
Usually when shooting “urban” landscape photography I try my best not to shoot to edit, meaning I try to shoot strictly with one particular setting on my camera already set in my mind. I’m looking for something that stands out, something that can tell a story, and change the perspective of the mind. I rarely edit photos in black and white setting. I like black and white photos only when using a film camera with black and white rolls of film. But today I tried something different.
These photos I believe capture a moment… NOPE!
I’ll leave that open for discussion, maybe a comment if you would like to share your perspective on my photos.
One of my favorites
Fresh air! We all need it obviously but were still on lockdown since covid19 hit us worst than a storm. My wife and I couldn’t handle it anymore. During our run to target, supermarket and a quick drive around town. We decide to grab food from one of our favorite restaurants. Candlelight inn has some awesome wings, Ill say they might be one of the best wings I ever had.
Keeping our distance from other people. I stood there watching all the workers in the kitchen work so hard on putting together all the customer's food together effectively in containers. I said to myself wow they're making food for me. They're working so hard while everybody home on the couch or inline kissing their teeth about how slow their orders are moving. Lucky for them they have a job which is a blessing during this strange time.
My point is, I had a quick reality check... reflecting on the little things we take for granted. Expressing my gratitude I left with a smile on my face thanking them for making my food and told them to stay safe.
Essential Day Whatever
I woke up this morning really earlier, whyyy!! can I not sleep in just one time during this quarantine days. Since I was up before the sun was up I decided to try my luck at getting certain essentials for the house. You know the Lysol, toilet paper, and FOOD! HAHA, that was a joke. As I prepared myself to at least wait maybe ten minutes on a line.. nope, the line was already there waiting for me. I mean this line was like the Knicks playing their last game at the Garden.
Since I’ve had the free time on my hands I decided to look through my old hard-drives. As a photographer, we attend to constantly take photos and store them. Maybe not all photographers but I know I do it all the time. Looking back on some old photos I was completely shocked to see the number of photos I have JEEZUS! this is going to be fun.
Basically, at this point, I have over two thousand photos I need to go over, categorize, and share it. I’ve neglected my website for over a year and a half. SAD Now the time has come I feel like I have pretty good schedule and balance now on how my day will go according to a simple schedule I mapped out. My plan for the website is just to add as many photos I can for viewership. Get prints available (fingers crossed) and hopefully build my blog up with content.
